We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who is dedicated and passionate about enhancing community services for adults in Midlothian, particularly in the areas of frailty management and falls prevention. Midlothian Assessment and Rehab Team are an integrated service, part of the Home First Service. Our remit includes both rapid assessments aimed at preventing hospital admission and a slow-stream rehabilitation service supporting longer-term recovery and independence. You will work in close partnership with physiotherapists, ensuring a coordinated and person-centred approach to assessment, intervention and rehabilitation planning. In this role, you will manage a diverse and complex caseload, undertaking holistic assessment, collaborative goal setting, intervention planning, and review. Your caseload may include individuals with neurological conditions, orthopaedic issues, long-term conditions, and a range of other complex needs affecting functional independence and safety. You will contribute to the supervision, support, and development of colleagues, support workers, and students, fostering a positive learning environment within the team. Working flexibly, you will deliver timely assessments within people s homes aligned to the Home First approach while also providing ongoing rehabilitation and reablement interventions to optimise function, reduce risk, and promote autonomy. You will hold a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and be currently registered with the Health Professions Council. Position Title: Occupational Therapist Health & Social Care Location: Old Bonnyrigg Health Centre, 35-37 High Street, Bonnyrigg EH19 2DA Contract Status: Permanent Monday to Friday: 08:30-16:30 (Monday to Thursday); Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.
