Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented qualified Pharmacy Dispenser (NVQ level 2) to join our team of problem solvers. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a pharmacy setting. As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will be responsible for supporting pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions while adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements. - Assist in the preparation of medication, including counting tablets, measuring liquids, and labelling containers. - Provide exceptional patient care by answering queries regarding medications and offering advice on their proper use. - Be an effective problem solver of patient scenario’s that present at the Pharmacy - Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies. - Collaborate with pharmacists to manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications as necessary. - Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations. - Participate in continuous professional development to stay updated on pharmaceutical practices and regulations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medication administration and pharmacy practices. - Strong knowledge of medication mode of action and use - Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is advantageous but not mandatory. - Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and customer service. - High attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. - Proficient organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
