Job Description
Behavioural Science • Leadership • High-Performance Culture • Retail Transformation
Performology is changing the way the retail world understands performance. We blend behavioural science, leadership psychology, cultural analytics and sharp commercial insight to help FTSE-level organisations transform how their people think, lead and perform. We’re expanding — and we’re looking for a Consultant who is equal parts thinker, creator, psychologist, and operator. Someone who loves insight as much as delivery. Someone who thrives in pace and ambiguity. Someone who wants to build something — not just work in it. If you’re excited by high-scale transformation, big data translated into sharp human insight, and the chance to work directly with founders shaping a new category… this is your role.
What You’ll Do
We call all our client-facing roles ‘Performologists’.
A Performologist brings their unique strengths, perspective and craft — and uses them to elevate everyone around them. There’s no hierarchy in brilliance: we succeed because we think together, build together and hold ourselves to a high standard. Your individuality matters, and the work becomes extraordinary when we combine it. Being a Performologist isn’t a rank, it’s a mindset. We collaborate deeply, challenge with care, and commit to exceptional quality for our clients and for each other.
This role is akin to a Senior Consultant role. You’ll sit at the heart of our client work — shaping thinking, designing experiences, and bringing behavioural science to life inside fast-paced retail environments.
You will:
Lead client delivery across large-scale behavioural, cultural and leadership projects
Be a trusted partner to client stakeholders — from HRDs to store teams. Build trusted relationships at every level, from frontline to C-suite
Facilitate workshops, insight sessions and leadership debriefs with clarity and presence
Manage project timelines, deliverables and expectations end-to-end. Manage complex workstreams with clarity, pace and a calm head
Create high-quality presentations, reports and narrative-led deliverables that make complexity feel simple
Translate data into insight — connecting dots others miss, crafting compelling narratives and clear recommendations (presented in powerpoint, in reports and in person)
Work alongside our Behavioural Science team to analyse qualitative and quantitative data to surface patterns, themes and behavioural signatures
Translate complex behavioural findings into compelling insights that shape strategy, working closely with our behavioural science team
Develop impactful recommendations to clients to build high performing cultures
Design and deliver high-impact talent and leadership assessment solutions, combining psychometrics, behavioural interviewing, and innovative assessment and talent processes design
Design, refine and deliver leadership assessments, psychometric-based insights and talent processes
Run leadership assessments, including 121 feedback and coaching to support personal growth
Facilitate leadership team development workshops and programmes
Support the creation of talent mapping, potential frameworks and assessment materials
Bring an occupational psychology lens to how we shape capability decisions
Working in an Early-Stage Team
Co-create transformation tools and IP, from behavioural frameworks to leadership standards, dashboards, and operating models
Develop and coach fellow Performologists
Contribute to building our culture and ways of working as a great place to work
Collaborate directly with the founders, helping shape and grow our offer, brand and culture
Bring energy, curiosity, creativity and a sense of ownership to everything you touch
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who is both credible and human, scientific and deeply intuitive.
You might be a behavioural consultant, business psychologist, organisational development practitioner, or someone from a leadership/talent consulting background.
You will likely bring:
A background in occupational psychology (Master’s ) or equivalent experience in behavioural science, assessment or leadership consulting
Strong presentation and facilitation skills — compelling, confident, engaging
Ability to turn complex messages in to simple and impactful messages
Depth in assessment — leadership assessment, psychometrics, competency frameworks, behavioural interviewing
A strategic + creative brain — able to zoom out and zoom in, and translate complexity into simplicity
Naturally insightful — you can see patterns in data and behaviour quickly
Relationship and stakeholder mastery — warm, credible, trusted
High-scale project delivery experience, ideally in retail or fast-moving consumer environments
Comfort in (and hunger for) pace, ambiguity, early-stage building, and direct access to founders. Comfortable operating with both autonomy and collaboration
Curiosity, courage, kindness, and a sense of ambition for the work we’re doing
You’ll fit if you love:
✨ Solving messy human problems
✨ Creating clarity out of noise
✨ Working in a business that is small, fast, and growing
✨ Designing things from scratch
✨ Being part of a team inventing the future of high-performance culture
This is not for you if:
You prefer calm predictability over pace and possibility
You want a rulebook, not a blank page
Building new things feels draining instead of energising
Complexity makes you shut down rather than lean in
You’d rather stay comfortable than stretch your thinking
Why Performology?
Because you won’t just be a Consultant — you’ll be a Performologist - a builder of something genuinely new, making a difference everyday.
You’ll get to:
Help shape our PerformX and PerformDNA methodologies
Work across the UK’s most exciting retail transformation programmes
Influence the foundations of a fast-scaling consultancy
See your work turn into real, measurable impact on performance
This is the place for people who want their work to matter.
