About The Role

This role at MS Amlin Investment Management Limited (MS AIML) involves reporting to the Head of Client MI and working within the reporting and data analytics team. The main responsibilities include producing performance and MI reports for clients and Head Office, using tools like Power BI, Power Query, Advanced Excel, and Python, along with expertise in GIPS Performance standards. The role is crucial for supporting clients and Head Office in understanding investment performance and offers opportunities to lead high-impact projects and drive automation.

MS Amlin Investment Management Limited (Ms AIML) manages the insurance assets for our European entities within the MS&AD Group.

Our focus is to drive the best returns while managing assets to match client’s liabilities and in line with regulations.

This role sits within our European Investment Management arm within the MS&AD group, MS AIML is the regulated investment management company of the MS Amlin brand (MSA). MSA is wholly owned by the MS&AD Group. The investment clients of MS AIML include MSA companies and others in the wider MS&AD group.

What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing

• Support and enhance existing MS AIML performance tools, streamlining tasks to improve accuracy, increasing automation where possible
• Contribute to strategic performance initiatives for clients, including re-platforming and Develop dashboards and reports using BI tools
• Support the Investment teams with insights and explanations of the performance including ex post risk measures: Sharp ratio, Tracking Error, Beta etc
• Client facing: Support clients with in-depth explanation of their performance and providing a breakdown of the performance calculations, with clear and well thought through visuals
• Coach and mentor existing members of the team improve their understanding of Performance

• Clear communicator for explaining performance results to stakeholders.

• Strong numeracy and analytical skills for creating dashboards and insights, coupled with excellent Excel and Power BI skills to enhance current tools and visuals
• Believe in data quality management by exception for trustworthy reporting
• Strong understanding of financial products, investment related data, benchmarks and risk measures, which can be converted into detail performance insights
• Excited about modernising teams reporting workflows and demonstrating the value of better insights

What We Need From You

• Experience with Investment Performance calculation and understanding attribution / contribution to performance
• Understanding of Investment market drivers and indices
• Proficient in excel and power BI and handling large volumes of data, with a good understanding of data design
• Capability to support both strategic and tactical performance solutions
• Experience in automation and improving business processes
