You’ll join the Performance Improvement team at Heysham 1, where you’ll support daily operations and help drive meaningful change. You’ll gain experience in performance monitoring, data analysis, organisational learning and testing new training programmes. This placement offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple functions and develop a broad understanding of nuclear operations. What You’ll Be Doing During your Performance Improvement Industrial Placement, you’ll work at #Heysham 1 within the Performance Improvement department. Past students have supported safety campaigns, developed analytical methods to optimise performance, and helped prepare contractors for major projects. This placement offers practical learning in a professional environment, supported by experienced teams and mentors. You’ll apply academic knowledge to real industry contexts while completing degree-relevant modules and gaining insight into business operations within the energy sector. Your Work Location You’ll be based on site at #Heysham 1 Power Station, within the Performance Improvement Department. Who You Are To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a bachelor’s degree (2:2 or higher) in Business or a related discipline.
