PE Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Slough
Position: PE Teacher – Maternity CoverLocation: SloughStart Date: June 2026 or September 2026Contract: Fixed-term maternity coverWorking Pattern: Full-time
About the Role
A highly regarded secondary school in Slough is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic PE Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave. The school is looking for someone who can deliver engaging, inclusive Physical Education lessons and promote a positive approach to health, fitness, and wellbeing across KS3 and KS4.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or a confident ECT seeking a supportive environment and a rewarding temporary placement.
Responsibilities
- Teach PE across KS3 and KS4
- Deliver practical and theoretical lessons that inspire participation and progress
- Plan, assess, and report on student learning
- Contribute to extracurricular sports and enrichment activities
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and safeguarding
- Work collaboratively with the PE department and wider school team
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education
- Experience teaching in UK secondary schools (preferred)
- Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
- Enhanced DBS on xbpsjku the update service (or willingness to apply)
