Pastoral Support Worker (Student Wellbeing)
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Contract: Fixed-term (1 year initially), term-time only, 32.5 hours per week
Salary: £18,923 - £19,718 actual salary
Start: June 2026

We're working with a well-regarded secondary school in Winchester to recruit a Pastoral Support Worker to join their dedicated wellbeing team. This Pastoral Support Worker role focuses on supporting students with their emotional health, behaviour and overall wellbeing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about student support to make a real impact in a structured, supportive school environment.

The Pastoral Support Worker role includes:

Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Delivering interventions focused on wellbeing, confidence and behaviour
Working closely with the safeguarding and pastoral teams
Liaising with parents, staff and external agencies
Supporting students in reset/seclusion and following pastoral plans
Delivering group sessions on topics such as resilience, anxiety and wellbeing
Promoting positive mental health and healthy lifestyles
Supporting student-led groups and initiatives
What we're looking for:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Empathy, resilience and a genuine interest in supporting young people
Ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
Good organisational and IT skills
Experience working with young people or in a support role (desirable, not essential)
A proactive and team-focused approach
Working hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:15am - 3:15pm
32.5 hours per week, term-time only
