Teaching Assistant - BS35, South Gloucestershire

Start: ASAP

Hours: Part-time - Monday to Friday, mornings only

A friendly and supportive school in the BS35 area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide consistent support within a KS2 classroom. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about helping pupils thrive in a structured, encouraging environment.

Role Overview �?

Provide general classroom support across the KS2 year group
Work closely with the class teacher to deliver differentiated activities
Help pupils remain focused, engaged and confident in their learning
Assist with group tasks, interventions and daily classroom routines
Support a positive learning atmosphere built on patience and encouragement

Candidate Profile �?

Previous experience supporting pupils in KS2 is highly desirable
Calm, adaptable and proactive approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
Level 2/3 TA qualification advantageous
Experience with phonics, reading interventions or KS2 curriculum support is beneficial

Additional training valued, including:

Supporting pupils with additional learning needs
Behaviour management strategies
Trauma-informed practice
Communication-based training (e.g., BSL, Makaton)
Team Teach or de-escalation training
