Role: Part-Time Maintenance Engineer (T2P, 2 days a week - Flexible)Pay: Flexible depending on candidateOverviewWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the ongoing reliability and performance of production machinery. This is a part-time position (2 days per week) with flexibility on working days, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking a flexible working arrangement.We are a UK market-leading provider of returnable transit packaging solutions, offering a fully integrated service including the rental, pooling, washing, repair, and management of equipment such as plastic crates, trays, and pallets.We support a wide range of industries including food, automotive, retail, and logistics, helping customers reduce costs and improve sustainability through reusable packaging systems.Key Responsibilities- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repair of onsite production machinery, including conveyor and feed systems, palletising/stacking equipment, pumps, and motors.- Diagnose and evaluate mechanical and electrical faults, providing clear feedback and recommendations to the Management Team.- Perform systematic fault-finding activities to minimise downtime and ensure efficient production operations.- Plan and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities, including managing maintenance schedules and coordinating works with site management.- Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to support maintenance and repair activities.- Conduct pre-shift inspections to ensure all machinery is correctly lubricated, safe, and ready for production.- Accurately complete maintenance records, reports, and documentation for all PPM and reactive works carried out.- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and performance.Role Requirements- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance engineering role within a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills; basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous.- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team.- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering schematics.- Effective communicator with the ability to engage with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.- Proactive, organised, and capable of managing workload and priorities effectively.- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (due to site location).Working Pattern & Remuneration- Part-time: 2 days per week (flexible on days to suit both the business and the successful candidate).- Competitive rate of pay, with flexibility depending on experience and skill level.Desirable- Experience with automated production lines or packaging machinery.- Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance management systems.- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).- Understanding of health & safety requirements (e.g. PUWER awareness).JBRP1_UKTJ
