Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington is seeking a Painter & Decorator (Fixed Term Contract - 6 months) to join our Maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring the hotel maintains its high standards of appearance and comfort, both internally and externally. Whether addressing wear and tear in guest rooms or refreshing public spaces, the Painter plays a key part in delivering a welcoming and well-maintained environment for our guests.
The Painter & Decorator Key Responsibilities will include:
Carry out decorating repairs in guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
To visually check areas when moving around the Hotel, being pro active, report defects or if practical, repair immediately.
To carry out any decorating repairs required to the back of house areas and public areas.
Conduct visual checks while moving through the hotel, reporting or repairing defects proactively
Assist with the planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule as required
Follow PPM deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks
Complete all required log sheets and compile reports at the end of each shift
Respond to guest complaints professionally, reporting to management and completing maintenance cards
The Experience & Qualifications for Painter & Decorator:
Proven experience in painting and decorating, ideally within a hotel or hospitality setting.
Ability to work independently and proactively identify issues
Excellent communication skills
Attention detail and able to work alone
Good can attitude & great team player who can manage own workload
Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace
Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and out of hours emergency call outs when required.
The successful candidate will be:
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, proactive, resourceful with excellent attention to detail
Demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills with the customers and other hotel departments
Team worker
Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace environment
