Painter and Decorator

Location: Based near and Around Leeds / Manchester / Huddersfield / Leicester / Sheffield (travel up to 2 hours to our childcare nurseries)

Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours/week, includes weekends)

Salary: Up to £33,000 + Car Allowance

++We will ask you to complete an Enhanced DBS for this role++


Requirements: Driving licence and own vehicle essential

About the Role:

Join Bright Horizons to help create safe, vibrant, and welcoming nursery environments. You’ll carry out high-quality painting and decorating across multiple sites, ensuring our spaces reflect our commitment to child-friendly, clean, and inspiring settings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey, plan, and carry out decoration work
  • Prepare surfaces and apply finishes to a high standard
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness throughout projects
  • Complete reports and maintain tools and materials

About You:

  • 2–3 years’ experience or relevant apprenticeship
  • Skilled in various finishes and surface prep
  • Familiar with COSHH and working in child-safe environments
  • Physically fit, able to work at heights, and travel between sites
  • Basic IT skills for logging tasks
  • Experience in Early Years or Educational Settings
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs or installations (e.g., noticeboards, shelving, skirting boards) alongside decorating tasks.
  • Experience using environmentally friendly paints and materials that align with sustainability goals.
  • Involvement in planning or coordinating larger refurbishment or redecoration projects, including liaising with contractors or suppliers.
  • Certification in first aid or formal training in health and safety practices relevant to working in environments with children.
