Job Description

Paid Social Manager

£40,000 | London | Hybrid Working

A few years ago, a long established media organisation began asking a simple but important question. How do you reach the next generation of audiences who live, scroll, and discover culture on social platforms rather than traditional channels. The answer was not to retrofit old models, but to build something new from the ground up.

From that thinking came two social first publishing ventures designed to speak directly to digital native audiences. Built by creators, editors, and strategists who understand internet culture instinctively, these teams exist to create, distribute, and amplify content where attention is actually earned. Social platforms are not just distribution channels here. They are the product.

The culture is fast paced, curious, and highly collaborative. Teams are small, ambitious, and hands on, blending creative instinct with performance discipline. Ideas are tested quickly, learning is shared openly, and success is measured by real audience impact. There is a strong belief that great social work sits at the intersection of creativity and data, and that both deserve equal weight.

Over the past year, these social publishing brands have scaled rapidly. New creator led channels have launched, audiences have grown at pace, and commercial partnerships have become increasingly sophisticated. Paid social has moved from a supporting function to a core growth lever, playing a critical role in how content travels, how communities are built, and how campaigns deliver against clear performance goals.

Now, the business is looking for a Paid Social Manager to lead the next chapter of that journey. This role sits at the heart of the operation, owning the setup, execution, and optimisation of paid social campaigns across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for translating objectives into smart paid strategies, launching and managing campaigns across Meta and TikTok, and ensuring budgets, targeting, and timelines are aligned to deliver meaningful results.

Day to day, you will be deeply involved in performance. Monitoring campaigns in real time, spotting opportunities to optimise, troubleshooting issues, and making confident decisions based on data. You will turn numbers into insight, producing clear and engaging reports for internal teams and external stakeholders, and using post campaign analysis to inform what comes next. As the paid expert in the room, you will stay close to platform changes, emerging formats, and best practice, helping the wider team continuously raise the bar.

This role would suit someone with hands on experience managing paid social campaigns across Meta and TikTok, with a strong analytical mindset and genuine passion for social media. You will be detail oriented, comfortable working at pace, and confident juggling multiple campaigns at once. Strong communication skills matter here, as does the ability to explain performance clearly and calmly to a range of stakeholders. Experience with tools such as Ads Manager, analytics platforms, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, while curiosity and a growth mindset are just as important as technical skill.

If you are looking for a role where paid social truly matters, where your work directly shapes audience growth and commercial impact, and where you can be part of a team building modern media brands from the inside out, this could be an exciting next step.
