Operations Manager – Repairs & Maintenance Home Counties (Hybrid – 2-3 days in office per week) £85,000 + Excellent Benefits Package
Join a leading Housing Association delivering exceptional repairs and maintenance services to communities across the Home Counties. This pivotal role oversees the external repairs contract, ensuring seamless operations, contractor performance, and value for residents.
Key Responsibilities
*
Manage the full lifecycle of the external repairs contract, from performance monitoring and compliance to dispute resolution and continuous improvement.
*
Apply deep knowledge of commercial contracting principles to negotiate terms, control costs, and mitigate risks while maximising service delivery.
*
Oversee operational aspects of a Direct Labour Force (DLF), including resource planning, team leadership, health & safety, and integration with external providers.​
Person Specification
*
Proven track record in operations management within social housing or repairs/maintenance, with hands-on experience managing external contracts and DLF operations.
*
Strong commercial acumen: expertise in contract negotiation, KPIs, SLAs, budgeting, and supplier relationship management.
*
Leadership skills to drive teams, foster collaboration, and deliver against tight deadlines in a resident-focused environment. Degree-qualified or equivalent experience preferred; hybrid working requires flexibility and office presence 2-3 days weekly.
