Operations Manager - Sub-Con CNC

We Have been engaged to find a proven Operations Manager who has worked in Sub-Contract CNC machine shops previous OR who has worked in organisations which have a busy CNC environment producing many parts for the aerospace industry.
You could currently be an experienced Machine shop Manager or perhaps a Production Manager Or Manufacturing Manager etc, if your skills cover what is required we would still like to hear from you.
This is more than just a job, we are looking for a person that in effect would be the MDs right-hand person.
A small friendly workshop producing high precision parts for aerospace customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for customers on enquiries, quotes, and contracts
* Manage order entry and production scheduling using an MRP system (ideally Tricorn)
* Lead weekly production meetings and coordinate shop floor priorities
* Ensure tooling is planned and available ahead of production
* Oversee maintenance schedules and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns
* Monitor job costing, performance metrics, and delivery logistics
* Conduct ISO audits, quality reviews, and staff appraisals
* Identify and implement process improvements and capital investments
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in sub contract machining
* Strong communicator with a professional, organised approach
* Background in CNC manufacturing and production planning
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, FAIR, and aerospace quality standards
* Familiar with KPI tracking and cost control
What’s on Offer
* £55,000 – £60,000 salary
* 4 weeks holiday (rising to 5)
* 8 statutory holidays
