The role:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, effective and commercially sound delivery of the company’s order fulfilment and processing activities. The role carries senior management accountability for the control of high‑value metal stock (c.2,000 tonnes, up to £20M), operational performance, and service delivery to Sales, external customers and other company sites.

This is a senior operational leadership role with a high degree of autonomy, decision‑making authority and financial risk exposure. The Operations Manager balances day‑to‑day operational delivery with the continuous improvement of people, processes and facilities.

What we need from you?

* Proven experience in an Operations or Warehouse Management roles with significant accountability.

* Demonstrable experience managing high‑value inventory and associated financial risk.

* Strong people leadership skills with experience managing mixed shop‑floor and office teams.

* Evidence of delivering improvements in safety, service performance, lead time and cost.

* Confident decision‑maker, able to operate under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Desirable

* Experience in metals, materials handling or industrial processing environments.

* Knowledge of sawing, machining or non‑destructive testing operations.

* Experience supporting multi‑site operations and/or external customers.

* Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
