The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background (preferably high-volume), be comfortable on the shopfloor and bring a practical, down-to-earth leadership style. Someone who has grown through the industry — possibly starting out on the tools or in an engineering trade — and has since developed into a proven operations leader.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day factory operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and output targets are met.
* Oversee production planning, workflow, material movement, and stock control.
* Drive continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and process optimisation.
* Manage procurement and supply chain activity to ensure material availability and cost control.
* Lead logistics/despatch to maintain strong on-time delivery performance.
* Oversee maintenance, PPM routines, and asset care to minimise downtime.
* Ensure compliance with H&S, Quality, and Environmental standards.
* Develop and motivate a multi-discipline operations team.
About You
* Significant experience in manufacturing operations management (minimum 10 years).
* Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, stock control, and factory flow.
* Comfortable in a hands-on role and able to work closely with shopfloor teams.
* Experience implementing lean tools and continuous improvement.
* Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* ERP/MRP knowledge and strong data-driven decision-making capability.
* Background in engineering, fabrication, or similar trade is highly beneficial.
If you are a motivated operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with NOW. However, if you do not hear back from us within 48hrs, kindly assume you have been unsuccessful. (agy)
