As part of our national expansion, we are looking for an experienced and driven Operations & business development Manager to lead operations, manage contracts, and drive new business growth across the UK.

Duties and responsibilities

This dual-role position combines operational leadership with business development. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day delivery across multiple contracts, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction, while also identifying and converting new commercial opportunities within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of contracts across the UK.
• Manage, support, and develop site supervisors, team leaders, and frontline staff.
• Conduct regular site audits and quality checks to ensure contractual compliance and high standards.
• Liaise with clients to maintain strong working relationships, address concerns, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure health & safety compliance, training records, and risk assessments are up to date.
• Work closely with Management to support operational reporting, staffing levels, and cost control.
• Support mobilisation of new contracts, including recruitment, equipment, and systems setup.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Conduct site visits and produce professional proposals in conjunction with the senior leadership team.
• Build and maintain strong local networks to support growth and tender opportunities.
• Attend networking events and represent the company at business functions.
• Work with the marketing and tender team to submit proposals and presentations to potential clients.
• Report on sales activity, pipeline, and conversion metrics.

Experience and qualifications

• Proven background in Operations or Contract Management within the business sectors.
• Experience managing multiple client accounts and frontline teams across multiple sites.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and win new business.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Confident presenting to clients and negotiating service agreements.
