Our OEM Client based in Gaydon, is searching for a On-Cycle Weights Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position with a proposed end date of 31st March 2027.

Umbrella Pay Rate: £33.64 per hour.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

An On-Cycle (i.e. programme delivery) Weights Engineering role requires assisting with, or ownership of the attribute for the programme, encompassing (but not limited to): Lead the coordination of vehicle weight data across all functional owners. Own programme‑level weight targets, including setting, balancing, and reporting status to Integration and senior teams. Utilisation of set control models to determine the mass and loads of all buildable derivatives on the programme Lead resolution of key mass related issues, including loads, distribution, and target gaps. Calculate (where appropriate) vehicle mass properties from geometry & first principles  Coordinate generation & maintenance of Vehicle Mass Property models  Lead creation and validation of Loading Charts, ensuring limits are feasible and issues are resolved. Conduct verification of weight for prototype & production vehicles  Lead the certification of vehicle masses with appropriate authorities Lead in market weight monitoring to ensure vehicles remain within tolerance.
