Occupational Therapist - SEN School
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team within a specialist SEN school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people with a range of additional needs.
About the Role: As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with pupils who have diverse needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, and physical or learning disabilities. You will assess, plan, and deliver targeted interventions to support students in developing essential life skills, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall wellbeing and access to education.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families Provide strategies and training to staff to support pupils' needs in the classroom Monitor and review student progress, maintaining accurate records
Requirements:
Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting Strong understanding of sensory integration and developmental needs Excellent communication and teamwork skills A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
