Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care (Duty Team)

A council in South London is seeking an experienced locum Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Community Occupational Therapy Duty Team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in triage, risk management, and community-based occupational therapy services.

Main Duties:

Coordinate daily duty functions alongside Duty Managers and Senior staff
Triage, prioritise and allocate Occupational Therapy referrals in a timely manner
Provide updates, feedback and reports as required
Support risk management and ensure safe service delivery
Assist with waiting list management and service efficiency
Contribute to quality assurance processes within the team
Support training and development of staff within the duty function
Provide specialist advice on equipment provision and major adaptations
Apply knowledge of manual handling and moving and handling practices
Work within relevant Social Care and Health legislation
Liaise with community services and manage appropriate referral pathwaysRequirements:

Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional registration
Proven experience in Adult Social Care and community settings
Strong knowledge of equipment provision and major adaptations
Up-to-date knowledge of moving and handling practices
Understanding of relevant legislation in Social Care and Health
Experience in triage, duty work, or fast-paced environments
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage risk and prioritise workload effectively
Enhanced DBS/CRB (or willingness to obtain)
