Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. The Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues and parents to ensure the highest standards of childcare and education are maintained.
Responsibilities
Planning and delivering engaging activities that support children's developmental needs in line with early childhood education standards
Supervising children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Organising daily routines, including mealtimes, playtimes, and rest periods
Monitoring and recording children's progress and behaviour, providing feedback to parents and senior staff
Assisting with the organisation of nursery resources and maintaining a clean, safe environment
Supporting new staff members through mentoring and leadership roles when required
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Driving responsibilities may include transporting children safely to outings or activities as needed
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
Strong management and leadership skills to guide both children and team members effectively
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to organise activities that promote learning through play
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are desirable
Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties
Compassionate, patient, and attentive approach to childcare responsibilities
