Nursery / EYFS Teaching Assistant – Cambridgeshire

Full-time and Part-time Positions Available Pay: £95–£120 per day

We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery / EYFS Teaching Assistants to support our partner schools and nurseries across Cambridgeshire. This role offers excellent flexibility with day-to-day supply, long-term placements, and opportunities for temporary-to-permanent positions within primary settings.

About the Role

As a Nursery / EYFS Assistant, you will:

Support the class teacher by delivering a wide range of stimulating and engaging activities. Prepare the classroom for lessons, including setting up and tidying resources each day. Supervise children during break and lunchtime, ensuring safe and happy play. Assist children in learning through play, engaging through observation, interaction, and guided play. Work with individual pupils or small groups to support speaking & listening, reading, writing, and Maths. Promote the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of all children. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to planning discussions. Attend relevant training, courses, and CPD opportunities for professional development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Adaptability to support both short-term and long-term placements. A genuine passion for inspiring young learners. Previous experience in an early years or children's setting (desirable but not essential). Willingness to complete safeguarding checks — all staff must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
