Your role as a Nursery Deputy Manager

We are lucky to have a large and engaging outdoor environment for our busy and well-resourced nursery in Leytonstone. We are well established, with wonderful parent partnerships, and are well known in our community for providing a caring and nurturing environment for our children.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to work alongside the manager in a supernumerary role. You will collaborate to develop and enhance the childrens journey, as well as take part in nursery operations for a 60 place nursery.

As a Deputy Manager you will:

  • Regularly monitor and review the provision and act as an agent of change to deliver high quality care and education at all times
  • Take the lead with SEND at the nursery and be able to:
  • Support staff in recognising additional needs and putting in place strategies that will help the child at nursery
  • Carry out referrals, implement support plans, and liaise with professionals
  • Resource the provision and ensure the resources are specific to each child
  • The group manager will support you and will provide plenty of opportunities to train and upskill
  • Fully understand the importance of procedures to follow regarding Safeguarding and Child Protection

Qualifications & Training:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, higher level training desirable

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of childcare experience:
  • Supervisory: 2 years (Required)
  • Childcare:3years (Required)

Essential Knowledge and Training:

  • Safeguarding, DSL, Child Protection
  • Special Educational Needs and Disability training
  • Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Paediatric First Aid (retraining will be supported if your certificate has expired)
  • Food Hygiene (minimum Level 2 - retraining will be given if your certificate has expired)
  • Supervisions and/or Coaching and Mentoring experience
