Small Animal Practice | Brislington (BS4 5NL)
Full-Time | 40 hours per week | 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse to step into a Nurse Lead position within our friendly and highly skilled small-animal practice in Brislington.
This is a fantastic role for someone ready to take the next step in their career-someone who is passionate about leadership, nurse development, and helping shape the future of a thriving nursing team.
You'll be working closely with Practice Owner Gabriel, who has a strong surgical focus and is nearing completion of a certificate in orthopaedics. You will also be joining a highly experienced veterinary team of four vets, all with long-standing ties to the practice-one of whom has been here since day one. The team includes certificate holders in ophthalmology and diagnostic imaging, creating an environment rich in clinical knowledge, collaboration, and continuous development.
The Role
As Nurse Lead, you will play a pivotal role in both clinical leadership and hands-on nursing, with an approximate 60/40 split in favour of hands-on nursing.

You will:
- Lead, support and inspire the nursing and VCA team on a day-to-day basis
- Act as a role model across all aspects of clinical nursing
- Help streamline and optimise workflows to ensure smooth practice operations
- Champion nurse-led consults and support their growth within the practice
- Support training, mentoring, and development of RVNs and VCAs
- Participate in appraisals, clinical audits, and team development initiatives
- Encourage individual clinical interests and professional growth across the nursing team

About You

- Has strong general nursing experience in small animal practice

- Is organised, proactive, and comfortable driving positive change
