I am looking for an NGS Scientist to join my client, a Bristol-based biotech developing next-gen IVDs for bloodstream infections.
What you'll be doing?
You’ll lead bacterial sequencing workflows in the lab, ensuring processes run smoothly from sample receipt to data generation. This includes running and maintaining lysis and sequencing workflows, troubleshooting issues, guiding technicians, and optimising processes for speed and reliability. You’ll track samples and reagents, contribute to SOPs, and collaborate with colleagues across science, engineering, and data teams.
What they are looking for?
You are hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrive in high-throughput or diagnostic lab environments. You have strong sequencing, molecular biology, or microbiology experience, with the ability to troubleshoot, document clearly, and work independently or in a team.
Essential : PhD (or MSc with industry experience), sequencing workflow expertise, bacterial culture experience, industry lab background, SOP familiarity, and excellent communication.
Desirable : Experience with robotic liquid handling, scripting (e.g. Python), LIMS, OpenTrons, ISO 13485, or high-volume diagnostic labs.
