New Business Development & Growth Manager

Our ideal candidate will be highly commercial with experience of leading complex commercial negotiations and working across multiple industries to deliver large, strategic partnerships.
Here's a taste of what you'll be doing
Business Growth & Pipeline Management
*
Develop and manage a pipeline of opportunities across consumer, SME, and/or commercial segments.
*
Deliver against sales and revenue targets in line with company growth strategy.
*
Lead prospecting, proposal development, and contract negotiation to close deals.
*
Support the launch and scaling of solution products (tariffs, smart charging, vehicle-to-grid, bundled services, heat, solar & storage and financing).
Partnerships and Client Relationships
*
Build strategic partnerships with technology providers, installers, community groups, and trade associations to expand reach.
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
*
Negotiate commercial agreements to expand distribution channels and enhance customer value.
*
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their energy needs and tailoring solutions accordingly.
*
Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
*
Represent the company in trade associations, local authority programmes, and mobility forums.
Customer & Market Development
*
Engage with SMEs and OEMs to deliver tailored solutions and energy management solutions.
*
Support residential adoption through bundled propositions (EV + tariff + home charging + energy efficiency + financing ).
*
Provide feedback from customers to shape product design and proposition development.
*
Proposition Development & Sales Enablement
*
Work with Propositions, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to develop tailored customer propositions (e.g. tariffs, renewable solutions, energy services).
*
Support the creation of sales collateral, proposals, and pitch decks.
*
Gather customer and market feedback to inform new product development.
Market Insights & Innovation
*
Monitor trends in the energy market, including regulatory changes, consumer behaviour, and competitive activity.
*
Share insights internally to shape strategy and proposition design.
*
Benchmark competitors and emerging players to inform commercial strategy.
*
Identify new opportunities in adjacent markets (EV, financing, mobility services, subscription models).
Cross-functional Collaboration
*
Work with Propositions, Commercial, Marketing, and Operations to ensure customer propositions are compelling and deliverable.
*
Provide sales enablement tools and input into GTM plans for new solutions services.

Here's what we need from you
*
Proven experience in business development, sales, or partnerships (energy, utilities, telecoms, or related sectors).
*
Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales/commercial targets.
*
Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
*
Commercial and financial acumen - ability to structure and evaluate business deals.
*
Knowledge of solutions, EV charging or energy retail propositions.
*
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
It would be great if you had
*
Experience in the energy sector (retail, renewables, EV, energy efficiency, or flexibility services).
*
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, net zero policies, and sustainability trends.
*
Experience working with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot) and pipeline reporting.
