We have a great opportunity for a Network Pathology Department Manager to join the team and oversee the Virology and Molecular Pathology (VAMP) Departments across the Trust. Responsibilities The Network Pathology Department Manager will be responsible for the oversight, operational running, strategic direction, performance and quality of the VAMP service. The role includes directing section managers and leads, ensuring the delivery of infectious disease and genomics testing, and maintaining clinical standards across all sites.
Take ownership of, monitor and control a designated budget or budgets, and deliver cost improvement plans to achieve defined financial targets. Maintain an open, proactive, and collaborative culture within Pathology, supported by effective communication systems that promote the activities of the relevant specialities and maintain clinical standards. Lead the propagation and maintenance of all laboratory aspects of ISO standards, HSE requirements and statutory regulations, ensuring delivery of services in line with these standards throughout CWPS. Serve as the expert in the use of the Quality Management System, overseeing the development and management of all controlled documentation, non‑conformities and audit reports within the system. Manage the attendance and performance of all qualified and support staff, ensuring all staff fulfil and maintain contractual requirements for mandatory training. Design and work with the Pathology IT team on continuous developments to ensure efficient use of the laboratory information system in support of patient care. Lead by example to develop and maintain full engagement with all staff, demonstrating motivational, presentation and training skills at all times.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will be dynamic, organised, able to multitask, communicate effectively with a wide array of staff, work well within a team, and be able to work autonomously when needed. Experience in managing pathology services and familiarity with ISO, HSE and quality systems is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
