Network & Cybersecurity Engineer - 6 months initially - Inside IR35 - Hybrid in Edinburgh Hamilton Barnes are seeking a seasoned Network & Cybersecurity Engineer to join our client's team on an initial six-month contract with one of the UK's leading utilities. In this hybrid role (two days per week on-site in Edinburgh) Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and IaC tools. Define and enforce cybersecurity guidelines throughout Agile product development, from design through release. Identify, assess, and track cyber-risk scenarios; develop mitigation strategies and maintain risk registers. Configure secure network topologies and controls tailored to utilities and power-system environments. Deploy and tune remote monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for Real Time threat detection and performance insights. What You Will Ideally Bring: Strong grounding in secure software/product development, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation techniques.
