As a Network Architect with Top Secret clearance, you'll leverage your CCNP expertise to support complex data center environments and ensure the highest levels of network security and performance.Job SummaryThe Network Architect (CCNP) - Top Secret will work within our Network and Systems operations group to support customer networks and devices in a secure data center environment. This role requires deep technical expertise in network architecture, security implementation, and compliance with federal security standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor complex network systems, hardware, and software applications including switches, routers, firewalls, and network appliancesDesign and implement data center technologies and routing protocols to optimize network performance and reliabilityExecute implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure compliance with federal security requirementsAnalyze network traffic patterns and performance metrics to identify optimization opportunities and potential security threatsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop network architecture solutions that meet operational and security requirementsWork with Windows, Unix, and other server administrators to design, address requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement changes in a data center environmentLead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues and coordinate resolution activities across multiple systemsMaintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and security implementationsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and support staffRequired QualificationsActive Top Secret security clearanceCurrent CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) certificationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 7 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cisco networks, including design, configuring, installing enterprise network devices and working in a data center environmentExtensive experience with Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewallsStrong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network security principlesProficiency in advanced EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols, as well as switching technologiesExperience implementing DISA STIGs and federal security compliance requirementsProficiency in network monitoring and management toolsTechnical SkillsAdvanced Cisco networking technologies (Catalyst switches, ASR/ISR routers, ASA firewalls)Network protocols: TCP/IP, VLAN, STP, HSRP/VRRP, QoSSecurity technologies: VPN, IDS/IPS, network access controlData center technologies: Nexus switching, UCS, storage networkingNetwork monitoring tools: SolarWinds, PRTG, WiresharkConfiguration management and documentation toolsTroubleshooting methodologies and performance analysisFederal compliance standards (FISMA, NIST, DISA STIGs)Application InformationThis position is located in Portsmouth, VA and requires on-site presence due to the classified nature of the work. We offer a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
