Are you an experienced Naval Architect with a passion for submarine design and safety? Were working on behalf of a leading client in Bristol, seeking a skilled professional to join their specialised Naval Architecture team on a rewarding contract basis. Position Overview This role is fundamental to certifying and developing rules for Submarine Naval Architecture, focusing on key hazard areas such as manoeuvring, control, and stability. You'll be integral to managing R&D activities, chairing working groups, and supporting constitutional standards, all within a collaborative team dedicated to advancing submarine safety and capability. Location & Working Arrangements The position is based in Bristol, offering flexibility with hybrid working options. Regular access to the workplace will be necessary to handle SECRET information securely. What Youll Need Naval Architect qualification at Masters level or equivalent experience Experience in submarine hydrodynamics Proven expertise in ship or submarine propulsion, including verification & validation (V&V) techniques Active SC security clearance (DV clearance highly preferred) Additional knowledge in acoustic theory and measurement techniques, along with Chartered Engineer (CEng) status and/or MRINA membership, will be advantageous.
