Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer – 4‑Day Week (No Weekends)
£44,000 + excellent benefits | Pontefract WF9

As an Engineering Technician, you will support and deliver site projects, from planning through to execution and handover. This includes equipment upgrades, process improvements, reliability enhancements, and H&S and Quality initiatives .
You will play a key role in identifying recurring issues and driving continuous improvement using structured problem-solving techniques. The focus is on reducing downtime, improving performance, and delivering sustainable results.

Shift Pattern (4‑Day Week – No Weekends)
* Week 1: Mon–Thu, 2pm–12am
* Week 2: Tue–Fri, 6am–4pm
* Week 3: Mon–Thu, 5am–3pm
* Week 4: Tue–Fri, 6am–4pm
Every other week = 4 full days off.
What You’ll Need
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
ONC in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in high‑speed manufacturing
Good knowledge of pneumatics & hydraulics
Practical engineering skills (turning, milling, grinding, welding – MIG/TIG/MMA/aluminium)
Skills & Attributes:
Strong problem‑solver with clear communication
Able to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
Good numeracy, literacy and basic project management awareness
Team player with a proactive, hands‑on approach
Nice to Have:
Exposure to automated lines, conveyors or packaging machinery
PLC familiarity (Siemens/Allen Bradley) beneficial
