Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Process Plant)

Join a growing energy-from-waste business operating a cutting-edge pyrolysis facility and play a key role in shaping how maintenance and plant engineering are developed from the ground up. This is a hands-on role with real influence, ideal for an experienced maintenance engineer who enjoys problem-solving in complex process environments and wants to grow with a young, ambitious company. The role You’ll be responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance across the QMRE Pyrolysis Facility. Working closely with Operations, you’ll support plant availability, develop engineering solutions to challenges, and help embed strong maintenance and safety systems as the site continues to develop. Key responsibilities * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on process plant and associated equipment * Diagnose faults and implement engineering solutions to improve uptime and performance * Work collaboratively with the Operations team to understand process challenges and improve efficiency * Ensure all work is accurately recorded within the CMMS * Support maintenance planning, spares management, and critical stock control * Actively contribute to Health & Safety, including risk assessments and safe systems of work * Support plant modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives What we’re looking for Essential * Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance * Proven experience as a maintenance engineer in a process or industrial environment * Strong understanding of safe working practices and H&S compliance * Ability to plan, organise, and report on maintenance activities * Comfortable working flexibly, including participation in an on-call rota * Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and decision-making skills * Good computer literacy Desirable * 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations * Experience in energy, waste, chemicals, or heavy manufacturing * Working knowledge of CMMS and stock control systems * Experience producing risk assessments and maintenance procedures * Exposure to C&I engineering
