Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Cheltenham – Permanent – Full-time – Days – Salary £45-£50k
Are you a hands-on, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable, days-based role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
We’re supporting a well-established production site in Cheltenham that is investing in its engineering function and now looking to appoint two Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to strengthen the team.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting production performance across a varied and technically interesting site.
The Role
· Electrical and mechanical fault finding on production plant and equipment
· Reactive maintenance and breakdown response to minimise downtime
· Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with site schedules
· Working closely with production teams to maintain output and efficiency
· Supporting continuous improvement of equipment reliability and performance
· Collaborating effectively with other engineers on site
· Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and housekeeping
The Person:
· NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
· Completed apprenticeship (mechanical, electrical, or controls)
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
· Strong multi-skilled background (electrical & mechanical)
· Experience fault-finding across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC systems
· A proactive, team-oriented approach with good communication skills
Desirable:
· Experience within FMCG, or high-volume production environments
· Exposure to structured maintenance systems and improvement activity
