Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical Bias Location: Bury St Edmunds Salary: £38,300 + 28 Days Holiday + Pension + Training Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Days Only - No Nights, No Weekends)

Are you a mechanically-biased Maintenance Engineer seeking a stable, Monday-to-Friday role with real variety and long-term development prospects? Join a well-established distribution centre near Bury St Edmunds, where you'll work across a broad range of equipment and support general site maintenance.

\n \n Permanent, full-time position with consistent day shifts

\n Salary: £38,300 per annum
\n

\n 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)

\n\n Key Responsibilities: \n\n
\n \n Mechanical maintenance and repair of distribution equipment:
\n
\n \n Conveyors, pallet wrappers, tail lifts, loading bays
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n General facilities and building maintenance
\n
\n
\n Occasional forklift use ( training provided if needed )
\n
\n
\n Welding and fabrication tasks ( advantageous but not essential )
\n
\n
\n Progression into refrigeration and specialist equipment maintenance
\n
\n
\n\n ️ What We're Looking For: \n\n
\n \n NVQ / City & Guilds in Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical)
\n
\n
\n Solid experience with:
\n
\n \n Hydraulic systems - loading bays, tail lifts
\n
\n
\n Pneumatic systems - pallet wrappers, conveyors
\n
\n
\n Gearboxes, drives, motors & bearings - key plant components
\n
\n
\n Chains, belts & rollers - maintenance of moving equipment
\n
\n
\n General mechanical fitting & fault-finding
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or distribution environment
\n
\n
\n Confident working independently and solving problems on the spot
\n
\n
\n Forklift licence or willingness to train
\n
\n
\n Welding skills a plus but not essential
\n
\n
\n\n
