We are currently looking to rectuit a experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join our print and web‑based manufacturing company in Leeds (LS10)
Role Overview
You will carry out planned maintenance, reactive breakdown support, and continuous improvement work across a range of print and finishing equipment. The role requires strong electrical knowledge, the ability to work safely under pressure, and confidence diagnosing faults on complex automated machinery.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical Fault‑Finding — Diagnose and repair issues on motors, drives, sensors, PLC‑controlled systems, and power circuits.
* Mechanical Maintenance — Support with bearings, pneumatics, conveyors, rollers, and general mechanical repairs.
* PPM Scheduling — Carry out planned maintenance to minimise downtime and improve machine reliability.
* Breakdown Response — React quickly to production stoppages, ensuring safe and efficient resolution.
* Print Machinery Support — Maintain web‑fed presses, folders, cutters, stitchers, and finishing equipment.
* Safety & Compliance — Ensure all work meets health & safety standards and maintain accurate maintenance records.
What We’re Looking For
* Time‑served Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias
* Experience in print, packaging, FMCG, or other high‑speed manufacturing
* Strong understanding of PLC‑based systems (fault‑finding level)
* Confident working with three‑phase systems, motors, inverters, and control panels
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small engineering team
* Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
* Continuous Improvement — Identify opportunities to improve machine performance and reduce downtime.
