Job Title: Maintenance EngineerLocation: Northampton (with occasional travel to Hinkley)Salary: £36,000 £42,000Permanent / Full-Time Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00 We are working with a growing and forward-thinking engineering business based in Northampton who are expanding their operations throughout 2026. Due to this growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is essential. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Maintenance Manager with testing, inspection, and maintenance activitiesCarry out reactive and preventative maintenance across plant machinery and site facilitiesIdentify faults, carry out first-line diagnostics, and arrange repairs or replacementsComplete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities to meet KPI targetsEnsure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately within the CMMS systemConduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulationsMaintain accurate documentation to support compliance with statutory requirements (including PSSR, PUWER and LOLER)Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement activitiesMonitor equipment performance and minimise downtimeWorking HoursMonday to Friday: 08:00 16:00The Ideal Candidate EssentialProven experience within a maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing or production environmentMinimum 2 years recent experience in fitting, repair and installationStrong fault-finding skills with a logical and methodical approachAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings (electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic)Experience carrying out PPMs and reactive maintenanceKnowledge of health & safety and compliance standards within engineering environmentsStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recordsFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel to Hinkley when requiredDesirableTime-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering18th Edition Wiring RegulationsKnowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR)Experience working with CMMS systemsIPAF / MEWP or ATEX qualificationsExperience working in regulated or safety-critical environmentsBenefitsSalary of £36,000 £42,000 (depending on experience)Opportunity to join a growing business with expansion plans in 2026Structured and varied role with exposure to multiple sitesPension scheme and additional benefitsJBRP1_UKTJ
