Overview We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at our Ford Authorised workshop in Knottingley. Preferably Ford trained to Level 3 / Qualified or Senior status, the successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. MOT tester preferred but not essential. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a strong mechanical aptitude to develop their skills within a supportive family owned dealership. The position involves working with modern equipment and tools, including IDS diagnostics. All technicians are supported to become EV trained if not already qualified.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and Ford IDS to identify vehicle issues accurately. Perform servicing and repairs on vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components. Assemble and disassemble vehicle parts during repair procedures, ensuring proper fitment and function. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair work clearly and addressing client concerns professionally. Maintain detailed records of all work performed in compliance with company standards.

Experience

Proven experience in a main dealer environment, Ford preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates eager to learn. Experience in performing routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting vehicle issues is required. Excellent organisational skills with a focus on quality workmanship and safety standards.
