Job Title: Migration and Onboarding Lead
Location: Edinburgh – 3 days a week
Rate: £618.57
Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
About the Role
The Product Solutions function sits within the Securities Services Team under Markets & Securities Services. This cross-product function is focused on delivering the Data Mesh solution for Securities Services. It is responsible for the design, build, management, governance, and delivery of the core platform, as well as oversight and support for all tenant spaces.
As the Onboarding Lead – Europe, you will work closely with business areas to support their adoption of Data Mesh as a core data solution. You will provide ongoing support post-implementation and act as a governance liaison to ensure alignment with group standards, best practices, and data models. You will also collaborate with IT and architecture teams to deliver an end-to-end onboarding experience for new and existing tenants.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Product Manager, Developers, Producers and Consumers to understand requirements
- Support the Product Manager on platform governance, roadmap management and reporting
- Perform the duties of Analyst and consistently produce work of high quality aligned to the strategic goals of the product
- Perform system analysis to capture various functional flows and produce documentation and diagrams (e.g. use case diagrams) as needed by the team
- Perform data analysis to validate logic, identify issues and trends
- Enforce data governance on the platform through tools like Data Dictionary
- Agree and assist producers and consumers with the creation of data dictionaries and business procedures
- Support and guide Business areas in the creation of Data Visas and EHCs
- Ensure appropriate business analysis tasks are performed as part of the project lifecycle including the development of process maps, operating models, business requirement documents, test and business migration plans
- Identify how to support the requirements using data sources both internal and external to HSBC recognising any licensing restrictions that apply
- Support producers and consumers in the creation of relevant data visa and DSS documentation
- Communicate and report effectively with all stakeholders, users and team members – providing regular updates regarding progress, and taking ownership of potential conflicts of interest and priorities
- Constructively raise key issues and risks
- Identify, recommend and deliver opportunities for improvements to enhance quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the deliverables
- Continually assess the risks inherent in the process taking account of changing conditions such as legal, compliance and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, and the impact of new technology
Knowledge or Experience
- University level degree or above, or equivalent qualification
- Experience working as an Analyst as part of a large project or programme of work
- Experience conducting data analysis on a large scale
- Practical experience in enforcing data governance
- Experience in working with product, operations and senior business users and stakeholders
- Understanding of the Asset Management / Custody / Fund Services industries, and supporting technology and business processes
- Ability to extract and analyse data using a variety of tools such as Excel, SQL etc.
- Knowledge of diagram tools (like Visio) and knowledge of various modelling techniques
- Strong business analysis and good interpersonal skills
- Strategic mindset with strong conceptual, creative and analytical approach
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Good and structured analytical skills
- Able to work effectively with business and IT stakeholders across business divisions
- Clear communicator – verbal and written
- Able to host and run workshops and meetings, many via conference / Zoom calls
- Able to multi-task and prioritise effectively
- Have vision and foresight concerning the design and implementation of system and data solutions, particularly in relation to the impact of revised / new business operating models and data
- Knowledge of Python and Google cloud tools is an advantage
