Job Description

We are hiring a MMDDispatcher / Transport Planner to support live middle mile transport operations across the UK network. This role is suited to someone who has worked in UK logistics, haulage, transport planning, dispatch, or fleet coordination and understands the pace and responsibility of live transport operations.

You will be responsible for monitoring trips in real time, coordinating with drivers, managing delays, handling operational escalations, and helping keep loads moving as planned.

This is an operations-focused role, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable making quick decisions, following processes, and communicating clearly with drivers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor live trips and ensure movements are on track Coordinate with drivers for departures, arrivals, delays, and updates Identify risks early and take action before issues grow Handle day-to-day dispatch escalations including delays, no-shows, breakdowns, and route disruptions Maintain accurate updates in dispatch systems and internal trackers Share timely updates with internal teams and stakeholders Support smooth shift handovers with complete operational notes Follow SOPs and escalation processes to maintain service levels Work closely with operations teams to support 24/7 transport coverage

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience in UK transport, logistics, dispatch, haulage, or fleet operations Strong understanding of live transport coordination and issue handling Good spoken and written English Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Good working knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, and operational tracking tools Calm under pressure and able to manage real-time situations professionally

Experience:

Experience as a Transport Planner, Dispatcher, Traffic Planner, Logistics Coordinator, or Fleet Coordinator Experience working in middle mile, linehaul, trucking, general haulage, or carrier operations Familiarity with fast-paced logistics environments and shift-based operations Experience with relay-based or live tracking environments is a plus
