Our successful client in Cardiff is recruiting a Microbiology Field Lab Technician to support microbiological testing across UK customer sites, including oil refineries and marine/offshore engineering facilities.
The role involves travelling to sites to collect samples and conduct microbiological surveys, then returning samples to the Cardiff laboratory for analysis. Work may involve confined spaces, working at height, offshore locations, and all weather conditions, with flexible hours and early starts required. Overtime is available and paid.

What you'll be doing:
Collect samples and conduct microbiological surveys at client sites
Provide technical and logistical supervision during site work
Analyse samples in the Cardiff laboratory
Prepare and approve technical reports
Assist with Task Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments
Deliver technical sampling training to customersSkills & Experience:
Practical microbiology lab experience with strong analytical skills
Experience of scientific sampling in industrial or environmental settings
Ability to work independently and safely in hazardous environments
Confident working in confined spaces, at height, offshore, and outdoors year-round
Strong problem-solving, hazard identification, and technical report-writing skills
Good manual dexterity, eyesight, and physical capability
Full UK driving licenceDesirable:
Experience in refineries, terminals, offshore facilities, ships or dockyards
Knowledge of QA/QC systems
A-level or higher qualification in science (biological science )Salary & Benefits
Salary £27,500-£30,000 DOE + overtime
35-hour week
