Job Title: Metal Web Joist Designer (Timber Engineering Experience Required)

With a strong reputation for excellence, we’re now looking to expand our design team with an experienced Metal Web Joist Designer who brings a solid background in Timber Engineering.

The Role:

As a Metal Web Joist Designer, you’ll play a key role in the technical design and layout of metal web floor systems (e.g. easi-joists, posi-joists) for residential and commercial projects. Working closely with our sales and factory operative team, you will ensure all designs meet engineering standards, project specifications, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design metal web joist floor systems using specialist software (Wolf Systems)
• Interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers to provide accurate, cost-effective solutions
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and material schedules
• Provide technical support to both internal teams and customers
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building regulations and standards

Requirements:

✅ Proven experience designing metal web joist systems

✅ Background in timber engineering and structural design

✅ Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and standards.

✅ Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

✅ Attention to detail and a proactive approach to design challenges
