Job Description
M&E Project Manager\n\nLocation: Derby, UK\n\nFull-time\n\nOperations Department\n\nAbout the Company\n\nA long-established building services contractor, operating for several decades, delivering full Mechanical and Electrical solutions across a wide range of sectors such as industrial, logistics, food production, pharmaceuticals, data centres, healthcare, commercial, hospitality, residential and energy.\n\nThe organisation provides end-to-end services—from early design involvement through installation and ongoing maintenance—with a strong reputation for technical capability, reliable delivery and long-standing client relationships. The business continues to expand across the UK and Europe and is recognised for maintaining high operational standards and a strong internal development culture.\n\nRole Overview\n\nThe M&E Project Manager will oversee the full delivery cycle of allocated projects, ensuring they are completed to programme, budget and quality standards. This role requires strong coordination, leadership, commercial awareness and an ability to manage technical detail in fast-paced environments.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Manage projects from pre-construction through to final handover.\n\n * Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and day-to-day activities to keep works aligned with the project schedule.\n\n * Lead design reviews, technical evaluations and value-engineering initiatives.\n\n * Oversee procurement, cost control, variations, forecasting and project reporting.\n\n * Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation, industry standards and internal procedures.\n\n * Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders.\n\n * Identify project risks, implement mitigation measures and monitor controls.\n\n * Provide input into tendering, planning and programme development for upcoming projects.\n\n * Promote a positive safety culture and encourage best practice across all delivery teams.\n\nRequired Qualifications & Experience\n\n * HND/HNC/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Construction-related discipline.\n\n * SMSTS, CSCS or equivalent site management certification.\n\n * Demonstrable experience managing M&E projects with subcontractor or specialist contractor environments.\n\n * Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.\n\n * Good commercial understanding with ability to balance programme, quality and cost effectively.\n\n * Experience delivering projects in sectors such as commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial or similar environments.\n\nWhat the Company Offers\n\n * Competitive salary package\n\n * Opportunities for career development and professional training\n\n * Employee wellbeing and support initiatives\n\n * Health and wellness benefits\n\n * A collaborative and flexible working culture that supports progression
