Job Description Mechanical Supervisor – FM Service Provider – Little Chesterford, Uttlesford (Essex) – £50,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join an established FM service provider based in Little Chesterford, Essex.
This role combines hands-on technical responsibilities with leadership and coordination duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and providing technical support to a team of four engineers. In addition, the role includes participation in a 1-in-4 call-out rota, ensuring an effective response to out-of-hours requirements.

Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm

1 in 4 call-out rota
\n
Key Responsibilities
\n
Managing and supervising a team of four engineers
\n
Carrying out daily inspections, as well as planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
\n
Acting as the first point of contact for mechanical, electrical, and system faults across the building
\n
Overseeing lighting control systems, HVAC electrical components, and general low-voltage (LV) infrastructure
\n
Supporting wider facilities operations and escalating issues where required
\n
Coordinating with the mobile support team and liaising with on-site contractors as necessary
\n
Maintaining accurate system logs, completing PPM tasks, and ensuring all work orders are closed out efficiently
\n
About You
\n
Mechanically qualified (City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 or equivalent)
\n
Proactive with strong problem-solving skills
\n
Confident working with automated systems and modern building technology
\n
Professional and calm when dealing with clients and end users
\n
Flexible and willing to assist in emergencies when required (rare, but fully supported)
