Vacancy - Mechanical Shift TechnicianAre you an experienced Mechanical Technician with experience working on Container Handling equipment? Are you excited by the opportunity to carry out maintenance tasks in a safe and efficient manner for Mobile Plant at the Port of Liverpool? We are seeking a Mechanical Shift Technician to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving! This role is a shift-based role working on a four on four off shift pattern.Your RoleIn this role you will complete planned and reactive maintenance in a safe manner, ensuring the reliability, availability and safe performance of Mobile Plant equipment. You will work to Safe Systems of Works for all activities, driving and delivering a safe working culture. Liaising with the Engineering Shift Managers (ESMs) and the Lead Engineer (Straddle Carriers), you will report parts and materials needs promptly.You will ensure effective and efficient management of reactive maintenance, with special attention to breakdowns during operation, attending and fixing breakdowns in a swift and safe manner. You will complete required training as and when required, demonstrating commitment to multi-skills activity where appropriate.What you'll bringYou will have a strong Mechanical Engineering background, ideally on Container Handling equipment, alongside:A good understanding of modern maintenance strategies i.e. RCM, FEMECA, CBM, TPMExperience of Motors and Variable speed controllers is essentialHold a minimum ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical EngineeringTroubleshooting, fault finding and repair knowledge is key for this roleFull valid driving licenceWho are we?Already one of the UKs leading port and logistics companies, we are planning substantial capital investment over the next 5 years to achieve our vision of becoming the UKs leading port operator.
