Mechanical Project Manager | M&E Building Services | West London / Thames Valley | £70,000–£85,000 + Car or Car Allowance + Benefits Package
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a respected construction and building services contractor, delivering projects typically ranging from £100k to £1m.
About the Company
A long-established and highly regarded building contractor delivering a diverse portfolio of construction and building services projects across London and surrounding areas. The business is known for its strong client relationships, repeat work, and supportive team environment, offering a more agile and less corporate alternative to larger contractors.
Role Overview
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full ownership of mechanically biased M&E projects from initial handover through to completion. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple smaller-value projects where you will have direct influence over delivery, programme, and commercial outcomes.
Projects typically include plant replacements, HVAC upgrades, smoke extract systems, and general building services works across commercial, healthcare, education, and high-end residential sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Full project ownership from contract award through to handover
* Managing programme, procurement, installation, commissioning, and client handover
* Commercial responsibility, including cost control and subcontractor management
* Coordinating site teams and specialist subcontractors
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard
* Maintaining strong client relationships and managing expectations throughout
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within M&E Building Services
* Strong technical knowledge across HVAC, plant rooms, pipework, and associated systems
* Experience managing projects in the region of £100k to £1m
* Comfortable taking full responsibility for both commercial and programme delivery
* Stable career history with a preference for candidates demonstrating long-term commitment
* Strong communication and organisational skills
