Most Mechanical Project Manager roles sound the same on LinkedIn.\n\n “Manage stakeholders.”\n“Drive delivery.”\n“Ensure project success.”\n\n But on a real construction project it usually comes down to something much simpler:\n\n Can you actually run the job?\n\n I’m working with a London M&E contractor looking for a Mechanical PM to deliver projects typically ranging from £20k - £750k.\n\n The work is proper building services delivery in live buildings:\nHVAC, ventilation, AC, pipework, BMS, plant upgrades and decarbonisation works across commercial, heritage and public-sector estates.\n\n A typical PM here might be running 4–5 projects at once, depending on complexity.\n\n It’s not a corporate environment where ten other people do the planning, procurement and coordination for you.\n\n This is a contractor environment where the PM actually:\n\n • Works the programme (Asta ideal)\n• Reviews drawings and raises RFIs\n• Coordinates subcontractors\n• Manages variations\n• Drives commissioning and handover\n\n The company turns over around £5–6m, has a relaxed culture, but expects PMs to take ownership and be accountable for their projects.\n\n If you’re mechanical bias, from an M&E subcontractor background, and enjoy actually delivering projects - not just reporting on them - it’s well worth a conversation.\n\n Spencer Wade | (phone number removed) | (url removed)
