Job Description

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Energy company to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer for a travelling role across its CCGT assets. \n\nThe Mechanical Project Engineer role comes with a starting salary of up to £75,000 + private medical + benefits. \n\nIf you are a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer and happy to travel to sites as required then submit your CV to apply today.

\n \n Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Project Engineer role\n\nAs the Mechanical Project Engineer you will:\n\nDeliver projects and outages while managing stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and HSSE standards.\nCarry out proactive and reactive mechanical engineering work, including fault finding, problem solving, and investigations.\nLead project teams and contractors depending on project complexity.\nDefine scopes of work and develop technical and contract specifications.\nEnsure contractor Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards are established and met.\nPromote and contribute to health, safety, environmental, and quality improvements.\nApply engineering expertise to maximise plant/facility performance, resource utilisation, and availability.\nInvestigate issues, determine root causes, and implement engineering resolutions within change management processes.\nShare and employ best practices by networking, benchmarking, and collaborating across sites and teams.\nManage contracts and projects, including commercial, technical, and compliance aspects.\n Professional qualifications\n We are looking for someone with the following:\n\nHigher Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).\nKnowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, with IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).\nStrong applied experience in industrial process plant mechanical engineering (including pressure systems).\nDemonstrated ability in project and contract management, including use of project management tools and techniques.\nUnderstanding of process system operations, relevant regulations, and risk management practices. \n\nPersonal skills\n\nHighly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of issues through to solution.\nFlexible, enthusiastic, and able to work independently with accountability.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders.\n\nSalary and benefits of the Mechanical Project Engineer role\n\nStarting salary of £55,000 - £75,000\nBenefits package private medical insurance and 6/12% pension\nOpportunity to join leading CCGT company\n INDPOW\n\nAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
