Mechanical Project Engineer – Building Services
Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (Hinkley Point C)
First 6–9 months based in Bristol
Type: Full-time | Permanent
Working Pattern: 9-day fortnight (avg. 37 hrs/week) | Hybrid available
Salary: Up to £70,000 + £5,500 Car Allowance
Travel & accommodation reimbursed where applicable
Overview
Mechanical Project Engineer required to deliver mechanical building services packages on a large, highly regulated infrastructure project. Suitable for engineers from building services or nuclear backgrounds. Nuclear experience beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver mechanical building services projects (HVAC, pipework, heating & cooling)
* Manage engineering and project delivery activities on site
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
* Develop and manage project programmes and schedules
* Coordinate labour, materials, and procurement activities
* Review drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
* Monitor project cost, progress, and work-in-progress
Essential Requirements
* ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
* Experience as a Mechanical or Building Services Project Engineer
* Experience delivering projects in regulated environments
* Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance
* Good stakeholder and contractor management skills
Desirable
* Nuclear project experience
* Knowledge of nuclear safety culture
* Experience with Qualified Equipment (EQ)
* Working towards HNC or higher qualification
* Working towards APM PMQ or equivalent
