Role: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Cheshire
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)
We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established, growing precision engineering manufacturer operating within highly regulated, safety-critical sectors.
The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring all components and finished products meet strict quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
Carrying out first-off inspections of CNC-machined components
Using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, plug gauges)
Interpreting engineering drawings and checking components against specifications (imperial)
Completing quality control documentation and supporting issue resolution
Managing acceptance/rejection of parts via ERP systems
Supporting quality processes using advanced equipment such as CMM or FARO arms (training provided)
Requirements
Mechanical or engineering background (apprenticeship or equivalent experience)
Experience within precision engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 quality standards
Comfortable using inspection tools and completing documentation
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
