Mechanical Gas Installation Engineer\nLocation: Portsmouth, Hampshire\nSalary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)\nCoverage Area: South Central (with occasional UK & international travel)\nEmployment Type: Full-time, Permanent\nJob Overview\nWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Gas Installation Engineer to join our team based in Portsmouth. The role will primarily involve working across the South Central region, with occasional and international travel depending on project requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Installation of mechanical and gas systems in line with project specifications\n * Installation and commissioning of gas pipework, plant and associated equipment\n * Carrying out pressure testing, purging, and commissioning\n * Fault finding and rectification of mechanical and gas systems\n * Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics\n * Occasional and international travel for project work\nRequired Skills & Experience\n * Proven experience as a Mechanical Gas Installation Engineer or similar role\n * NVQ Level 3\n * Experience with mechanical plant and pipework systems\n * Ability to read and work from technical drawings\n * Full UK driving licence\n * Willingness to travel nationally and internationally when required\nQualifications (Essential)\n * Gas Safe Registered (Commercial/Industrial)\n * NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical / Gas Engineering (or equivalent)\n * Relevant ACS qualifications\nWhat We Offer\n * Competitive salary: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE\n * Company vehicle\n * Travel expenses covered for /international work\n * Overtime opportunities\n * Training and development\n * Career progression within a growing business\nIdeal Candidate Profile\nThis role would suit a professional and motivated engineer who is confident working on complex mechanical and gas installations, is flexible with travel, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work across varied projects
